The Ride
Sikad Tuburan will again adopt the ‘randonneuring’ style of cycling, emphasizing cooperation over competition. It is run under the clock with riders expected to complete their course within a prescribed time.
‘Randonneuring’ incorporates orienteering as riders must follow a cue sheet or use a digital map to navigate the route. Furthermore, riders are expected to be self-sufficient, carrying their own nutritional, medical, and mechanical essentials while on their course.
- Assembly time and venue opens at 5:00 AM. Gun-start for all riders is at 6:30 AM, sharp.
- Riders must attend the pre-ride check-in 30 minutes before gun-start at the venue to redeem their ride kit.
- The ride kit includes a food pass (for a simple snack) and a commemorative shirt.
- The full route consists of four official checkpoints and five barangay checkpoints. All riders must stop at every official checkpoint while barangay checkpoints serve as water stations and helpdesks.
- Helmet is required.
- GPS units are recommended to help navigate safely. GPX files will be provided.
- This is a community ride. Riders must cross the finish line before the cut-off time of their respective courses to receive the Finisher's Token.
